Lily Tubbs
Lily Tubbs is a Graduate Research Assistant pursuing an M.S. in Coastal and Marine System Science. She is working with Dr. Jennifer Pollack to assess recovery timelines for benthic invertebrate communities following a beach nourishment event. She hopes that insights from this project can be used by resource managers to inform planning and design of future beach nourishment projects to minimize ecological impacts while supporting local economies.
Lily earned her B.S. in Environmental Science with a minor of Geology at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She worked in the Coastal Conservation and Restoration Lab as an undergraduate research assistant and later a laboratory technician. In both roles, Lily has been heavily involved with the Texas General Land Office's beach nourishment project.
Lily is from Glen Rose, Texas which influenced her affinity for geology and paleontology. She studied geology at West Texas A&M University for two years before transferring to TAMU-CC in 2021. Lily enjoys hiking and being outdoors, non-fiction reads, painting, and exploring new places - especially coffee shops.
