Dr. Deborah LeBel is a physical oceanographer and Research Specialist at the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative Information and Data Cooperative (GRIIDC) at the Harte Research Institute. She earned her bachelor's degree and Ph.D. in oceanography from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. Deborah has experience analyzing large-scale observations of circulation and deep-water formation as well as surface ocean processes. Prior to joining HRI in September 2019, she worked at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, interpreting measurements of turbulent energy dissipation rates, wave breaking, and other processes that affect air/sea interaction. She currently serves as subject matter expert for GRIIDC.
