Weatherall works with Jace Tunnell and the Nurdle Patrol Program, which is a citizen science project focused on tracking and reducing plastic pellet (nurdle) pollution along coastlines. She helps manage various aspects of the program including the Nurdle Patrol database, quarterly progress reports, the annual Texas Plastic Pollution symposium and the distribution of Nurdle Patrol Kits to partner organizations, teachers and individuals both in the U.S. and internationally.

The best part is being part of a community-driven effort that combines science, outreach, and tangible environmental impact. Working alongside passionate people—from scientists to everyday volunteers—makes the work meaningful.

She likes to play in her vegetable garden and cook new recipes in her spare time.
